We arrive at Cairo at 9am - however that was the time we aimed for, The Egyptian time we arrived was 11am - I am going to miss Egyptian time dearly! We shower and change and are shown around the very busy and noisy city of Cairo. We are lead through the contents of King Tutankhamen's tomb, which took quite a large chunk out of the day...there was a lot of stuff in that tomb...more than could ever fit into my London flat. I use my spare time to go in and see the the mummy of King Ramses and more. It is then time to battle once more the Cairo traffic to make our way to a Giza perfume maker where we are fed and accepted like family and we learn the art of squeezing petals, then burying them in the Egyptian desert. 6 bottles later we head to the markets and alas I only buy 1 thing (each for 7 people LOL) then some tea...dinner and back to the hotel for final goodbyes as we depart tomorrow morning. Now if only the cars would stop tooting...I might get some sleep.....I normally don't wake up for anything but I have found the one thing in the world that can wake me up....Cairo traffic.
Despite the pain of the last night sleep I absolutely 100% love and advise that EVERYONE should visit Egypt at least once in their lives and give it the time it deserves. A week is not enough to sample all that Egypt has to offer...I think I have left a part of my heart in Egypt but I know I will be back one day to collect it :)
