Another early start to beat the sun so we can see it rise from our hot air balloons. I have never been in a hot air balloon before so it was mixed emotions of excitment and anticipation. After floating from the ground the view offered to us was spectacular on one side the Nile and Luxor the other the Valley of the Kings and Queens. The blue Nile provided the green landscape at its sides then the green met with the yellow of the sand overflowing from the vast amount of desert. balloons are dotted through the sky and the landscape is finished off nicely with the glow from the sun.
On the ground we head to the valley of the Queens by road after which we walk through the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (pronounched like Queen hot-chicken-soup) finally on to the Valley of the Kings. The tombs we walked through were so well preserved and the same colour that was painted onto the walls thousands of years ago is still the same paint that is there today. My of the pictures are offerings to the Gods or a diary telling the envents of the time. Finally we reach one of the tombs that still has the coffin inside and I am once again hit with the sudden feeling of joy as I am just beginning to realise how many dreams are coming true on this trip...PINCH!
