On The Road with Lou!
Have a sleepin and then a bit of a lazy day, taking a break from riding. The Rocket is in the hotel parkade, and I move from my comfy Hyatt bed to a surprising good free hot breakfast in the lobby to a comfy Hyatt pool side chair for a nap.
I have a conference call late in the morning with one of my favorite clients regarding an upcoming event this fall. (This is a gratuitous plug as I know he is reading this!). Sadly I mess up the time because my iPhone helps me by converting all the times in my Calendar to EST, but I don't know that, so I am converting them in my head too. Nonetheless, we do manage to speak.
I spend the balance of the afternoon advancing the various projects I have on the go this month, and watching a little TV. I had looked into a tour of Atlanta, but I really don't have any interest, it's nice to have a day with lowered expectations.
I have a long text chat with my BuBu, then get ready to go to work. At 1730 I meet the local production company; Atlanta Video, I hired to do a plastic surgery shoot with me the Emory Aesthetic Centre and we install in an operating room for the next day.
The install takes about 2 hours and then I return to my Hotel. In the cab ride back I noticed a Louisiana restaurant tucked away in a small strip mall across the street. I freshened up, slipped into something more comfortable and went in search of Cajun cuisine, hopefully including frog's legs!
Didn't get any rib-bets, but it was an OK dinner, I'd give it 6 mehs out of 10. What was amazing though was the Cotton Tops Club Karaoke Night! (I made up that name!). There was a Cabaret side of the restaurant with about 50 seniors in it and they were all singing (mostly poorly, with a few standouts) accompanied by a man flailing on an old piano. They were singing hits from, and I am guessing here, the 20's, 30's and 40's.
Turned in early, with strains of Elle Fitzgerald echoing in my head, as I had an early start in the morning.
