So we can all agree that horse culture errs on the side of snooty, yes? Well, you haven't seen anything until you've witnessed horses dancing. Yes, dancing. We took in the morning exercise at the Lipizzaner Spanish Riding School, where the horses cavort and prance to their favourite classical music. Personally, I prefer the Slovenian approach to things equine, but I digress.
For lunch we paid a visit to a Heurigen, which is basically an Austrian wine tavern that serves great local specialties. The dingy cellar atmosphere was fabulous and the local wines paired nicely with a heaping helping of Wiener Schnitzel.
After yet another Christmas market excursion, we settled in to the homey atmosphere of 7 Stern Brau, a great pub here in Vienna that brews all of their beers on site. Not only was this a great place to escape the cold, but the brews provided an interesting assortment from the smoked malts to the hemp beer. Delicious!
