Laura's Aussie Adventure!
Hey people!
Today is our very last day in Melbourne :0(
I have really enjoyed it here and wish we had more time ... but can't wait to get to Alice Springs aswell though! I think Christine is dying to get out of here now as she has been here a week longer than us and is still trying to save pennies in anyway she can!!
We have done lots since I last wrote - the first thing was the Neighbours tour! You know I said that the Neighbours night was brilliant, well the tours isn't so great! First we go to Erinsborough High (which is actually Blackburn English Language School and is for foreign kids who wouldn't even have heard of Neighbours until they went there) and we all just lokked at each other and were like 'this looks nothing like what we've seen on the tv!' The tour guide brings out the sign and hangs it on the fence and we take some photos! Then we go to the tv studios but when I say that we got to them we actually drive alongside them and peer through the fence at the top of Lou's garage etc!! Felt like such a stalker! Next stop was Ramsay Street (which is really called Pin Oak Court). This was the only bit worth seeing so we got some more photos there. In between times we watched pop videos of former stars, such as Kylie, Jason and Holly Valance!
That day we met Christine and went shopping for cowboy hats for Alice Springs! Christine bought a cool one so will need to get some pics of her wearing it! We went a wander around the museum and parks and went for a tour around the Parliament.
That night we done the night tour at the jail that I was talking about. It was good - really interesting and better than wandering around the jail yourself but it wasn't at all scary. We were disappointed that no one was running around making us scream and jump in the dark!!
On Thursday we had a long but amazing day doing the Great Ocean Road Tour. I would definitely recommend anyone who comes to Melbourne to go here! We started off at Bells Beach which is supposed the be the best surfing beach in the world - which reminds me we still haven't managed to have a go at surfing and we really must do it before we leave! We also went koala spotting, fed some Crimson Rosellas (I have big scratches on my arms now and look like I've been self-harming!!)
When we got to the 12 apostles we went for a helicopter rideand it was amazing!!!! I even got to sit in the front beside the pilot and it was sooooo cool! I was well excited!!
The sights and scenery there are so gorgeous, and yeah Fiona the drive is amazing! The only thing not so good was that our bus driver Jimmy was a bit of a rebel and he drove so fast and it was so bumpy that a few people were feeling sick!!!
My time is gonna run out now so I will add more later! x
