Laura's Aussie Adventure!
The Neighbours night was fantastic last night - such a good laugh!! Although unfortunately Harold wasn't there so we were a bit disappointed!! Paul Robinson, Toadie and Steph were the stars for the night. Paul Robinson looked soooo drunk! I was chatting to him about Neighbours and Dream Team and he said that Neighbours was better to work for in that they had a better production team etc, but that Dream Team definitely had the most babes!! Oh and I totally forgot about him being in River City until I was talking to a Scottish girl on the loos!
Steph also looked very drunk but she didn't really say much all night. She just wandered round smiling for the cameras all night. She is much smaller than I expected her to be! Toadie was a good laugh and doing most of the entertaining, making fun of himself etc.
To begin with there was a chance to ask them questions and then whilst everyone was getting there photos taken there was a big quiz with 6 rounds - not just Neighbours questions. Our team came second! We were so proud ... although one of the bouncers did help us a little! And guess what our team name was ... Summer Bay Girls and Boys - oh how cheeky!!
The night was in a British pub in St Kilda and funnily enough it was mainly Brits who were there! Apparently Australians don't watch Neighbours!! Afterwards there was a disco and we were there until about 2am! The drinks were pretty expensive but I managed to spend a whole $10 (4 pounds 50)!! Two of the bouncers kept giving me free drinks vouchers - how it pays to be a nice girl with a big smile!!! It was great!!
Once we left St Kilda we all ended up back in The Crown Casino for munchies and got back to the hostel about 3am!
Today we went to Rialto which is the Observation Deck in Melbourne. It was good fun and we got to watch a cheesy video about how great Melbourne is!! It had such an annoying jingle "Melbourne.... such a great city to be in" etc, etc and now we can't get it out of our heads!! We didn't manage to do much more as we had a long lie this morning! We had to go shopping again too because my battery pack for my camera ran out!! Raging - I've only had the thing a few months!
Anyway tomorrow we are up early to do the Neighbours tour - I know, how sad are we!! We get to visit Ramsay Street (or Pin Oak Court as it is really called)! Then at night we are hoping to do a tour at the Melbourne Gaol! "The performance is a creative blend of cutting edge theatre and historical facts, bringing the forbidden secrets of the Gaol to life by Candle light. An enthralling tour you won't want to do alone....." We are hoping it will be as good as the Chamber of Horrors at Madame Tussauds - Lisa am gutted you won't be there!!
Christine and her friend Emma have just came into the city to meet us so I think we are off now to a pub ... yes, another one!! ;0) x
