Laura's Aussie Adventure!
G'day Maties! Been having a fantastic time here in Sydney since I last updated you all on Saturday.
On Saturday the weather was much better so Michelle and I headed to Manly Beach which is a short ferry ride away. It was lovely and we were finally able to take our jackets off and actually get some photos that look summery! It was really weird being down on the beach as when you looked around you some people we wearing bikinis and trunks and then there were others with their winter coats and wooly hats and scarfs!!
We didn't stay too long in Manly as we came back and met Christine to go to Bondi Beach! Another lovely beach and you will see from my photo that I managed to get in a little bit of sunbathing! ;0)
Then on Sunday (yesterday) Michelle and I went on a tour to the Blue Mountains! Had a great day there seeing the amazing scenery and we also stopped at Featherdale Wildlife Park where we got to feed kangaroos and cuddle the koalas - they were sooooo cute! The dingoes were a lot nicer than I thought they would be too and I found out that a gallah is a bird - totally not what I expected!?!?
Today we managed to get up and do the Harbour Bridgeclimb! It was really good and not at all scary, which I thought it would be! I would definitely recommend it - even to people who are afraid of heights because you really don't feel that you have climbed that high at all! It didn't seem like hard work but I will find out hard it was if and when I get sore legs!! We weren't able top take our cameras up there but we have group and individual pictures that they take for you which you can see when we get home - and I even got an extra one free, yeah!!
Unfortunately today is our last day in Sydney. Have had a great time here and have managed to do pretty much everything we wanted to so am now looking forward to Perth!
I was telling our Bridgeclimb guide today about our three and a half day train journey to Perth on the Indian pacific and he was like "wow, how amazing" etc, so hopefully it will be a good adventure and not as boring as I am expecting once the novelty wears off!!
Hope all is well with everyone back home and you are all managing without me, ha, ha!! Probably haven't even noticed that I am gone yet - not sure if I realise that I am at the other side of the world!
Tonight we are planning get drunk, which will make this my only proper night out here ... so watch out Sydney!!!!!!!!!!!!! xx
