Laura's Aussie Adventure!
This morning was lovely and warm so Michelle and I headed out with the intention of going to Manly Beach (Christine didn't want to come as has been before). We went down to the CBD first but by the time we had got there and had something to eat the clouds had become really black so we decided to give the beach a miss.
We walked round to The Rocks which is just along the Sydney Harbour and spent time wandering around the weekend market. After a while it began pouring down again - and I mean really pouring down - so we had to go into a pub to stay out of the rain! After it stopped we walked further round the Rocks and then went to the Sydney Aquarium.
The Aquarium was good - especially the sharks, which there were loads of and some were enormous!!! Were in there for quite a while so by the time we got out it was almost dark once again! We looked for somewhere to stop and have dinner - lots of places to choose from - and somehow I think we ended up in the 'hottest restaurant in the Harbour'! It was a Malaysian Restaurant called Chinta Ria and was on the top floor of the Cockle Bay Wharf! It was a lovely place full of the young and trendy people (like ourselves) and there was a constant queue at the door, so who knows how we managed to get a table! As soon as you walk in there is a big massive Buddha statue, which you will see in the photo! The meals were massive - I can't remember what mine was called but it seriously looked as though I had only eaten a few spoonfuls when I was finished but it was just that there was that much to begin with!
Just realised it is Saturday night and we are sitting like geeks in a boiling hot internet cafe!! Hoping to get up early for the next few days as there is still so much we would like to do before leaving on Wednesday so I don't think we will be sampling the Sydney nightlife tonight!!
