Thankfully the rain had stopped today and we had more of an exciting day than yesterday!! We had a busy day exploring Sydney and visited the Botanic Gardens, the Opera House, saw the Sydney Harbour Bridge, went to Darling Harbour and then at night to the Sydney AMP Tower! Our hostel is called The Original Backpackers and is in Kings Cross. I was quite surprised to discover how close to the City we were - we walked down to the Botanic Gardens in about 10 minutes! I am getting used to the idea of staying in a hostel now - see I am not a snob after all!! :0) It is clean and once you are in the bathroom for a shower etc no one else can get in, and the staff are really friendly! Hopefully the others are just as good or even better! I thought I would be quite tired today but I was first up out of all of us! It was nice to see the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge - although I don't think my photos look as nice as all the postcards!! I really want to climb the Harbour Bridge so I think Michelle and I are gonna try and do that on Monday or Tuesday. Darling Harbour is pretty and has lots of nice cafes and bars ...not to mention a great kids' playpark, which the three of us had a scream playing in!!! Poor kids!! ;0) We went to a nice bar for a drink at the Harbour and one of the waiters was a guy who Christine had met over here last year!! She has met quite a few people that she knows already!! The time seems to totally fly in over here and before we knew it it was starting to get dark! We thought it would be good to go to the Tower at night so headed up there. It was good to see and we got lots of photos - some better than others as it took the 3 of us about an hour to realise that we could change the camera settings to get better night pictures, doh!! We were hoping to go for dinner in the revolving restaurant in the tower but it was closed for a function so ended up in Hungry Jacks instead (the Oz version of Burker King)! Afterwards we headed back to the hostel for the night as Michelle wanted to go back to see the tennis - saddo!! ;0)
