Heading south!
Since my birthday i spent the last few days around christchurch, wednesday night was amazing, the buskers were on at night and so the evening was spent sitting on the grass in the park watching incredable routines. The smile was on my face, theres nothing like just sitting amoungst locals at the park as the sun goes down with great entertainment and happy people. At 10 the flame ozz were incredable, the yellow flames against the black skys and circle of people sitting on the ground around the stage. Lights under the trees lighting up the greens of the leaves and everyone enjoying the evening. The weather was perfect on thursday, another trip into town around a craft market and some new acts at the buskers festival. The blue skys and warm weather can fare brighten up anyones day, a nice walk to the park etc followed to complete the afternoon.
Friday i packed up and although ive found myself taking haf the clothing i took to s.a i still find i have far to much stuff (when really i havnt to much) but iit just feels like that! Once packed up and odds and ends sorted we made for timaru that afternoon. Nice weather some music playing in the car we were on our way stopping of for afew picture moments and awesome ice cream!! it was that good it gets a mention in the blog! The drive itself....very straight and very flat the cantebery plains. It was beutiful scenery however.
I found myself passing through several small towns witch in there day would have had alot of character but it is like going back in time a little with the stlyes of houses and buildings. But i think definately places i would love to have grown up in as as bern.
Timaru itself is quite small with alot nice areas lots of houses having lovely gardens giving alot of greenery to the town. Saturday was a quite day, we went out for a walk and just had a relaxing day.
Golfing time; sunday i was playing in the family golf competition witch was alot of fun, the first 18 holes i can say i have ever played in an other country, that i have ever played in new zealand and that i have ever had the most laughs whilst playing. Not hitting a ball in a good 5months it was always going to be good fun. I still proved to myself i can still play however a little untidy round the edges at that. A few days practices and i think i could of come good. It was laot of fun and the 4 of us found ourselfs zig zagging around the fair ways sveral times.
The annual family bbq witch has been running 52 years followed from the golf, id never met half of the family but found myself most welcome. It was a lovely afternoon and a lovly tradition they have :)!
Now tonight an austrailian open final to be watching!
