Leaving wellington.
Leaving wellington i made my way to the west coast, a 6 1/2 hour bus journey this time, through rolling hills and countryside out of the large city of wllington to new plymouth. Famous for its surfing beaches and eggmont national park. Some beautiful scenary including my first black sand experience. The volcanic areas resulting in black sand just as nice on the feet though on a hot day shoes would be highly recomended. With the clocks changing sunset came alot early walking along a ruges beach line coastal errosion clear to see once again. The town itsel i only saw proparly at night, a larg garden area light up at night with a large lake and waterfal. It is deffinatly one thing i appreciate alot is how much time money and effort is put into cities to produce areas of greenary and begetation, the botancial gardens in christchurch and wellington, and the gardens hear. I really am not a city person at heart but some of the cities hear i could live in becuase of the proximity of coastlines and areas of vegetation.
Leaving new plymouth this morning seeing mount taranaki in the distance, if i had more time i would of deffinatly explored this national park alot more but with traveling you must keep mooving. Ive now met with a boy who was in my class at school, nice to see a familiar face for afew days. He showed em around the familys dairy farm before heading of towards the center of the north island.
The drive once again, its incredable how you go from city to farmland and open country in the space fo minutes. Allow far densly populated the north island still has areas of untouched land witch is great to see. The long drives met with beautiful bush then to dry rolling hills. The feeling of being in the complet middle of no where allong the way incredable. Arriving in turangi famous for new zealands trout capital of teh world.. it was a dissapointment i never packed my fishing rod! A small town with witch has alot of people staying who plan to do the tongariro crossing which is on my list to do. Tenting this week, as way make our way through the north island begining to explore the volanic areas.
