We got on our flight from Sydney to Melbourne and then got on a bus to the city. When we arrived, we headed straight to our hostel which was a good 10 minutes walk from the train station. We walked up to reception to check in where I quoted our names and the guy said he didn't have our booking. I thought hmm very strange!! And was pretty adamant that we'd made the booking. The guy on reception called the sister hostel who confirmed that they didn't have our booking either! We were thinking s***tt!! It's gone 10pm and we have nowhere to sleep! The guy offered me a computer to check my emails for a confirmation of the booking. As I had already tried looking for it earlier that day, I was pretty reluctant to try again! But I did... And 10 seconds later a big grin came over my face! I'd only got the name of the hostel completely wrong!!!!! Haha! So off we trotted to the next hostel! We were so glad when we arrived at our actual hostel! It was soooo nice and way better than the previous one! Thank god. Our hostel was called 'urban central backpackers' located in the city. It's like a plush hostel! Even when we checked in, I got a lollipop :) Our room rates included breakfast, free rice & pasta and free tea & coffee. Boom!!!! They know how to make a girl happy! There's even a bar on site (which was the main attraction).
We went to our 4 bed dorm and dumped our bags off before heading for a tour of the hostel. We got chatting to an English guy called Ian who told us all about Melbourne. He was a musician and asked us all to sign his guitar! When we finally headed to bed, we checked the beds and there were all these little bugs all over them!! We started panicking as we thought they were bed bugs. Consequently, we spent the next hour 'bug watching'. Possibly the only thing we've been good at on this trip. You watch a bug... Then violently kill it. Harsh you may think, but it's gotta be done. Once the room was deemed 'bug free', we settled down in our beds for some shut eye.

We decided to take a stroll and head to a park in the city to sunbathe. We got our favourite lunchtime meal again... Crisp sandwiches and a hungry jacks $1 frozen coke. We headed to the park with our lunch and sunbathed after. Omg.. we didn't even last 10 minutes!!! It was absolutely boiling!! Over 40 degrees heat with absolutely no breeze whatsoever! So we decided to head into the city and take a walk around to get to know the place.
Later on, we headed back to the hostel and had a... Wait for it.. A chilled night in! Practically unheard of nowadays!! I sat in and read my book. Boring you may think, but absolutely necessary! We had an early night, ready to hit the beach the next morning and get our tab on!!!
