Wow.. me and Hannah woke up hanging out of our arses while Siobhan got up early for her date. Me n Hannah eventually got up about 2pm and headed to St Kilda beach to nurse our hangovers. We laid on the beach for a couple of hours then went for a stroll along the beach about 7pm. There were people inline skating and cycling along the promenade; people were having barbecues and drinking; everyone seemed to be enjoying the sun after work. It made me think how amazing it must be to live in Australia!
After an hour, we headed to St Kilda pier to try and see the penguins come out the water at sunset. We found a good spot by the marina and waited for the sun to go down. Sunset came.. But no penguins. Then suddenly I saw something in the water, and said to Hannah 'omg there's a penguin!!!'... She said back to me 'no. That's a water rat'. Haha!
We stayed around for another hour without any sign of penguins. We thought... bloody typical for the penguins not to come out when we were there!! At 10pm we left, and just as we were leaving two little penguins came out of the water. Awww they were so cute; tiny fluffy black penguins - a lot smaller than the ones we'd seen in the aquarium!
We headed back to our hostel, stopping off to buy some dinner on the way back. We fancied some jacket potatoes with beans and cheese. Good home food!! We got back, cooked dinner and packed our bags which was a real struggle.
We finally got to bed for a few hours sleep before having to get up for our flight back to Sydney in the morning.
