28th Feb - It was time for us to leave the party hub of Queenstown. Hannah, Kylie, Rosie, Char and I were leaving little Stu behind. It was a pretty emosh goodbye :( but I was certain we'd seen him again back home. We chucked our bags on the Kiwi bus for one last time for our final destination.. Christchurch. This is where our amazing Kiwi Experience would come to an end! I don't think emotional is even the word. But luckily us girls were altogether for 1 more night until we parted ways. We were all absolutely exhausted from Queenstown, our bodies were destroyed! On the way to Christchurch we stopped off at a couple of beautiful scenic places.. Including a big blue lake. This was the last time to take some final beautiful photos of NZ, though I was so tired I could barely see!!
When we arrived at the YMCA (the worst excuse for a hostel), Hannah, Char, Rosie and I all got a room together. We went to buy food to make dinner and came back to the hostel. Hannah and I had jacket potato with beans and cheese. We fancied some real homely food! We sat and ate dinner in the tv lounge with all the girls from our bus. It was so nice just to chill out!
1st March - We had planned to take a walk into the city to see the aftermath of the earthquake, but when we woke up we were still practically knocking on deaths door so we soon found ourselves on the sofa in front of the telly. There were no boys around, yesssss!, so we watched all the crap morning tv like Jeremy Kyle and even Desperate Housewives!! Kylie even came to join us for the momentous occasion (she was now staying with friends in Christchurch).
Around 5pm, another kiwi experience arrived. We'd forgotten that, in fact, Stu was arriving this day! So we were reunited sooner than we thought but only for a short while as Hannah's family friend was picking us up as we were staying with them for a few days! :)
When we left the hostel, we had another few emotional goodbyes and headed to meet Rob's wife Netty who was picking us up. We got driven to their house which was about a 15 minute drive from the city. When we got to their house they showed us to our bedrooms.. Yes, we had one each both with a double bed!!! It was lush and felt soooo good to be staying in a house again! The first time in 4 months!! I met their cat called Biggles who was sooo cute! They made us home made pizza and we watched a bit of telly with them. When we got ready for bed in our rooms, I climbed into bed but it just didn't feel right so I went into Hannah's room and asked 'can I sleep with you tonight please?!'. As if she would ever reject me! ;)
