We woke up on Christmas day feeling so rough.. But we had bought tickets to Sunburnt festival on Bondi beach so we had to go! We were gutted that it was raining on Christmas day!!! But Hannahs friend Scott, who was also in Sydney, dragged us out! We found out that there was a free party bus going to Bondi beach leaving round the corner so we got on it. It was wicked! It had flashing lights and was wacking out the tunes!
It took us about 30 minutes to get to Bondi beach. It was a lot further than we thought! When we got there it was chucking it down with rain! We went an got our Christmas day meal.. A macdonalds! Yummy!
It was so weird to see all the restaurants and some shops open on Christmas day. It didn't really feel like Christmas at all; they don't celebrate Christmas like we do back home!
Sunburnt festival was on Bondi Pavillion just in front on the beach. It was a lot smaller than we thought it would be! They had a stage outside which played house/dance music and a room indoors which played indie music. We spent most of the time indoors as it was freezing and so wet outside! We couldn't believe it; it was like being at Creamfields again!
We left the festival early cause of the weather and headed back to our hostel. We got the bus and train back home. Yes, they still run on Christmas day! The trains are brilliant.. so much better than the London underground!
We got back to the hostel and played some drinking games for the rest of the evening. That was the first time we drank goon!! All travellers drink goon in Oz cause its the only cheap drink - its basically cheap boxed wine for around $12 that you buy from a 'bottle shop'. Its a lot better than what people in Asia told us!
