We woke up once again later than expected so we missed the opportunity to go surfing on the beach :( but we were feeling a bit hungover so we decided it was probably for the best. We went to Darling Harbour again, took a walk around and sunbathed for the rest of the day.
We decided to go back to our hostel early and eat dinner so we could watch the fireworks at Darling Harbour at 9pm. Every Saturday in Darling Harbour there are free fireworks!! On our way back to the hostel, we called in to the travel agents next door to ask them about the greyhound bus that takes you along the east coast of Australia. Before we knew it, we were planning our whole itinerary for Australia! They were so helpful. We got such a good deal for 3 weeks of travelling including the bus, accommodation, most of our food and day trips = all for under £900! I won't tell you what we're doing though... You will have to read my future blog entries! All I can say is it's pretty exciting!!! :D I'm so looking forward to it! So, what turned into 5 minutes popping into a travel agents.. turned into 2 hours booking a trip of a lifetime. Because of this, we missed the fireworks. But it was well worth it!
We still headed down to Darling harbour anyway for a good Saturday evening stroll. The harbour was BUZZING. It was so crowded and full of street entertainment. We saw an amazing guy playing the didgeridoo. I actually want to learn how to play one.. it's awesome! We walked all around the harbour taking in the atmosphere. It looked so pretty at night with all the lights! We even treated ourselves to an ice cream from McDonalds ;) then headed back to the hostel for an early night ready for a big day of sightseeing the next day.
