27th-28th October: We had a long 10 hour trip to Airlie Beach from Kroombit Cattle station. We had 2 days in Airlie before our boat trip. The Nightlife was good here and shops were ok too so a good place to relax for a day or two. There was also a lagoon to swim in. We went to a Mexian restaurant that did all you can eat chilli on tuesday nights and some pretty nice cocktails.

29th October: Whitsundays trip. We were on a boat called PowerPlay, a motored catamaran. Our first stop was Hayman Island were Shelly, Beth Alice and I tried an introductory scuba dive. The coral was not spectacular but i think that is partly due to our concentraion being on how to scuba dive and not on the coral and fish. We then made our way to our overnight ancorage while the sun set over the sea. We saw a slide show of the photos of the day after dinner and then had the evening to ourselves.

30th October: We snorkelled twice in the morning and the coral was much better than the previous day. I even managed to find Nemo. we then had a relaxing sail/motor to Whitehaven Beach. We spent the afternoon on one of the top beaches in the world. having fun taking photos and in the ocean, eventhough we were advised not swim to due to deadly jellyfish.

31st October: (Haloween!) our last day on the boat. I started with a snorkel before breakfast and spent a good hour or more looking at the reef. This coral was the best i had seen so far and the variety of fish was amazing! Once i was finally back on board we headed back to Airlie Beach. That evening we went out for haloween with the rest of our boat.

The whitsunday islands were absolutely stunning and Whitehaven beach was even better! I'm glad i tried scuba diving but the snorkeling was best. Best thing about the boat was the food!
