26th October: From Hervey Bay the caught the bus to an inland cattle station. the journy was about 7 hours long but we were greated with fresh steak and salad for lunch. We then went goat herding on horseback: very entertaining. We finsihed with a ride around the area. It was slightly painful having not ridden in years but the views were pretty nice and very different from the coastal region. Some people they tried clay pigeon shooting with a shotgun and then we all had a go at 'branding' a goat. I eneded up having to chase a goat around a pen and pick it up by two of its legs before placing it on the gorund to be 'branded'. After dinner and trying some bush tucker meat thats true identity is still unknown to me we had a chance to try cracking a whip. I managed it only twice but it was sooo difficult. To end the day i decided to have a go on a bull rodeo. No one would volunteer to go first so I did: wrong decision. I was so not ready for it and lasted only a couple of seconds, falling face first over the front! very funny. My second attempt was slightly better at maybe 5 seconds. Some of the workers showed off thier skills on the bull, including surfing it and riding it backwards. Thats what im going to aim for next time.
Kroombit cattle farm was a really good stopover and im glad i did OzExperience otherwise i wouldnt have been taken there.
