The bus got into Brisbane at about 6 in the evening. We checked into the Palace hostel that was anything but a palace, definatly the worst hostel so far but still bareable. We went down the the Down Under bar under the hostel for some cheap dinner and stayed for some drinks beacuse Jenna was leaving us in the morning to continue up the coast. The bar was well seedy but we still had an ok time.

Saturday 18th October:

AUSTRALIA ZOO (Steve Irwin zoo)!!!!! We got the train to the zoo and spent about half a day there. It was really good and we fed Kangaroos, Koalas and Elephants and we saw the Croc show and a cool bird show. we were absolutly knackered by the end and all 5 of us slept on the train home, not that comfortable but good enough. That evening we went out to the valley and ended up in a club playing old cheesy music...we were "loving it" as Danielle would say.

Sunday 19th: We went to the man made beach on the South Bank in Brisbane, really nice but really busy! little kids everywhere. The walk back through the botanical gardens was pretty relaxing. We then had a chilled evening for an early bus the next day.

Brisbane wasn't that great but it was worth visiting. The South Bank was a higlight but the hostel was terrible.
