Thursday. We were checking out at 11 and leaving Chiang Mai today. We were planning on getting the overnight train to Ayutthaya (an hour from Bangkok) however we found out it had been fully booked for a few days, which we were annoyed about. We decided to fly to Bangkok which cost £28 and then get a taxi to Ayutthaya. We managed to lie by the pool for an hour in the morning before setting off on our travels again. The flight was only an hour so by the time we were in the air and got our free Oreo's, we were practically coming back down again. The taxi journey was about 90 minutes and we checked in to Somjai place. I had a double room with Lauren and we got excited about the (really old) TV in the room. We headed out to a bar down the road for food and a drink, and they had 'Great British flag' cushions on all their chairs which again we got excited about. The bar was full of locals so they thought we were funny. There was a live band on, mostly singing songs we couldn't understand but we enjoyed it anyway. We got told off for playing a game of card. My sister thought they were asking what we were playing so was shouting 'Bullsh*t' at them, until they came back with Google translation saying to it was illegal. Awkward. When we got back to hostel I was really tired but still didn't sleep well. I was sharing a bed with Lauren so was worried I would wake her up, although I did have to get up and move her from lying diagonally across our bed at one point. When I finally fell asleep it felt like it was only for a few minutes before the birds were waking me up.
