Sunday. We got up at 8:30am because we wanted to have a full day out and about on the bikes seeing some sights. We went for breakfast at 'The Witching well' then headed for the Pai Hot springs spa resort. It was beautiful and sooo peaceful. I could have stayed there forever. We went in a hot springs bath for a while, and mostly just picked on Nick for entertainment. Then we headed to the swimming pool which was huge and overlooked a great view. Other than two Irish lads we were the only ones here so we spent a couple of hours here and had a laugh, winding each other up, pushing Kirsty in the pool and pretending to Lauren there was a snake on her sunbed which was just wood. When we finally decided we were hungry about 2 o clock, we biked back in to town to get lunch then went out to see a waterfall in the mountains. It wasn't as big as I expected but it was still pretty and we got to see some more villages and locals whilst we were riding there. It was weird driving past elephants just walking down the streets too. We pulled out at one junction and had to swerve an elephant which was a bit surreal. As it was coming close to sunset we went to find Wat Phra That Mae Yen (Temple on the hill) which is a White Buddah up in the mountains that is meant to watch over the people of Pai. We heard it's the best view of Pai and to watch the sunset. There were 353 stairs to the top but it was worth it. We only just missed the sunset but it was still light and you could see everything! After a great day we got ready to head out to the market again but decided to have a couple of beers at the hostel first. We all made phone calls home and spoke to family. It's actually really hard to find time to call home because I am always on the move or doing something, and even harder because of the time difference as I am 7 hours ahead of the U.K. When we got to the market it wasn't as busy as the day before. Me and Lauren headed to 'Why not' bar whilst Kirsty and Nick did some shopping and went for dinner. We met some people in the bar from Glasgow, Ireland and the Midlands so joined up with them and I started on the tequila sunrises. Ergh. Kirsty and Nick turned up with some sky lanterns so a group of us headed out to let them off. We stopped on a dirt road next to a house and Jack and Nick were trying to light one off the other, then the owner of the house came out to help. I think she was panicking we were going to set her house on fire, and we were drunk so I don't blame her. We finally let them off and I thought about my Grandad who's still in hospital at home. We headed back to the hostel and a few people carried on drinking but I had enough and headed to bed.
