Sunday 24th January.
Ouch. 7am and the sun was cooking the van again. My head was pounding and I was so tired. I dragged myself up and by 8am I was heading for the pool. I saw Chris and Lucas on the way passed and they said they would meet me at the pool. I found the first sun lounger and lay down to feel sorry for myself. It wasn't long before Chris turned up and was laughing at me. He convinced me to get in the water because apparently it would help. Lucas came in and we were all chatting about our travel plans and home lives. There was times where we had to get our translation app out to help understand certain words, but we all found it amusing. I was trying to find out the translation for pancakes because I was talking about pancake day. Chris had gone off to get some crisps which he brought back but I couldn't even face eating them, which is a first for me as they are one of my favourite snacks. After a few hours I left them at the pool to go and see if Kirsty was awake. She had just got up and we swapped over and I ended up lounging in the van whilst she went to the pool for a bit. We finally found the energy to leave the camp site and drive to the hostel we had checked in to right in the centre called 'Down Under'. We liked it straight away, it's not huge but the Aussie man on reception called Nick was really friendly and the wifi, computers and laundry facilities were free which was a bonus. They also had a pool table and a to area as well as a small cinema room. We were in room 5 on the first floor next to the tv area. I got the bottom bunk which was a double and Kirsty was on the single bed at the top. We had a German girl called Melissa in our room who we didn't really see much. We were both so hungover and tired we couldn't face cooking anything. We went out for food to Kitty O'Sheas which was a five minute walk and along a Main Street. I got a pulled pork burger and a glass of wine and we sat listening to the street music and people watching. Daniel, who we met last night, was going to come and meet us as he was here on his own, but he was too hungover and jet lagged to get out of bed. After a couple of hours we video called our Mum and Dad then headed back to the hostel to sleep.
