Lisa's Big Adventure
Back in LA
We arrived back in LA mid morning after a longer than planned journey due to the traffic jams. I couldn't believe I was back to LA already. We were taken directly in Hollywood and onto Hollywood Boulevard. I didn't mind going back because we were taken on an inside Hollywood tour. The guide led us around and spoke to us through a headset. He gave lots of movie trivia, including talking about scenes that had been filmed where we were standing. We also went into the Egyptian Theatre which I hadn't done the last time. The other good thing was that this time smog meant the Hollywood sign was invisible so I was relieved to get my photo the last time!
After our walking tour, we got back on the bus and drove down Melrose Avenue and onto Sunset Boulevard before driving through Beverly Hills. This time we didn't stop on Rodeo drive, just continued out through Santa Monica to Venice Beach. Venice Beach is one of those places you have to see to believe. There are all sorts of people there from rollerblading granny's to tanned surfers playing basketball. Lee and I chose an outdoor café and had a huge lunch of burgers and fries while watching the passing parade. I would recommend that anyone who goes to LA should go to Venice beach just to check it out. We wandered and looked in the shops before it was time to return to the bus and go back to the hotel at Anaheim.
Our tour ended on arrival at the hotel so those of the group that weren't departing on flights met up for dinner and drinks in bar. I also caught up with Barbara who was there about to start her tour.
