Dragonboat racing
Well, believe it or not, I decided to get involved in a corporate event - dragonboat racing. Pretty scary I know considering most people know that I'm an absolute weakling and can barely open a bottle - let alone paddling in a race! Surprisingly, I had a fantastic time and would like to do more of it!

Hi! It hard to believe that my big adventure is over, and has been over for a long time. I\'ve settled back in Australia amazingly well, loving being back on the Gold Coast and working for Griffith University. I\'m still updating my site (excuse the slackness) so over the coming months I\'ll be finishing my diary and adding photos for the remainder of my trip through America. As always, would love to hear from you all.

Hi Lisa, reading your diary and looking at your photos soooo makes me want to go travelling. Your photos of the Czech republic remind me of parts of Serbia. Guess they aren't too far away from each other anyway. You're an inspiration - this diary and these photos are fantastic. Take care and if you make it to the 'big' island of Hawaii, go to Ken's House of Pancakes in Hilo (if it still exists - it was 7 years ago after all!) I remember the blissful experience of sharing a $5 shake will Paul (yep you only needed one - afterall it was a $5 shake). Pancakes dripping with maple syrup and icecream never tasted so good at 3am after returning from a HUGE hike on Kilauea to go and see red lava entering the ocean. Definitely a magical moment in my life. I wouldn't recommend you do it alone though as it's too far and could be dangerous as it's really easy to cut yourself on the hardened lava. Keep the excellent diary entries and photos coming :-)

Hey Lisa...great to get your news about coming home (how are you going to cope without Contiki tours) - look forward to hearing in person, some of the stuff I've been so enthusiastically reading about. After all this time, will miss having a beer with you as I am not heading to the other hemisphere this year. Still, will love to pick your brains on travel hints when you get home...and who knows, you may be heading back again.
