Day 83 - 31st Mar
Leaving Bundaberg tonight, but had the day to do our last tourist attraction in Bundaberg, and probably the best one… the Bundaberg Rum Factory tour! We went on a Gold Tour around the grounds of the factory, and got guided around where the rum was made and see the process of production. Was pretty interesting going around and seeing how the made the rum, especially seeing that since we had been in Australia we had pretty much not drunk any other alcohol. Although it was interesting we were more concerned about the tasting part of the tour! We got to do 2 tastings, the first I tried was the Bundy dry and lime. It was really nice, it was rum, ginger beer and lime, so good new favourite drink. The second was a special liquor that you could only buy from the factory. It was Rum, vanilla, coffee, caramel and cream, it was so lush, think it was even nicer than baileys. Rest of the day we spent hanging out at the hostel ready to get on our overnight coach to Airlie beach which left at 10pm. We thought the coach would be pretty empty like the last overnight we got form Melbourne, but it was rammed, not a spare seat on it. So uncomfortable, not good to sleep on.
