Day 19 - Sundays in Fiji are really traditional and are all about relaxing (big change from all the other days) and going to church, so this is exactly what we did with our Sunday. In the morning we went with some of the staff to the village to go to one of the village church services, of course this was on Fiji time so was later than we were initially told. The service was really nice to watch, it was conducted in Fijian so we couldn't understand much although we did understand when the lord's prayer was being said. The nicest part of it was to see all the local people gathered together especially the children, who were so cute. Service did take a while, and by the end I think we were all glad to be getting out of the church as it was so hot in there. After the service we also got to walk around the village with some of the kids, who kept on saying we were there best friends (Vicky especially loved this). Evening we had the traditional Fijian drink of Kava in one of their many ceremonies. Kava is made from the root of a plant and is mixed with water, that is basically what it tastes of… muddy water. Really not nice, tasted horrid but had to keep with tradition and participate in the ceremony, which involved everyone including the staff who were at Sunset Waya.
