Day 21 - Day after the cyclone. Woke up really early, although don't think anyone really slept. Wanted to find out what was going on, as we were supposed to be leaving the island in the morning as we had our flight to NZ the next day, and Fiji boats only run once a day. At breakfast we were still feeling the effects of the cyclone, was just so windy (bit of an understatement as the whole building was moving) and it was more than clear that the Fijian disorganization would not make trying to find out what is going easy. Weather was horrendous, and was clear that no boats would be running. Stuck on a desert island, with nothing to do…literally shipwrecked! Didn't even know how long we would be stuck there, but were pretty sure that we were going to miss our flight! Although we were annoyed we were pretty lucky compared to some people, who had missed 4 or more connecting flights! Nothing we could do, so just sorted ourselves out and participated in wet weather activities including a couple of fierce games of scrabble, draughts and as many card games as we could think of. The island was pretty much completely wrecked with trees fallen down everywhere. Were a little annoyed that no-one told us that the storm was coming the day before when we were on the boat, as we could have headed straight back to the main land instead of getting stranded on an island, but no point worrying about that!
