If you're scared and you know it scream out loud... Ahhhh. Halloween is upon us.
It was a short car ride to Emily and Michaels. We had a quick stop off at Mollys school to drop her off for her cross country mete. Her school is huge...it looks pretty much like a university, with all the different buildings and things. It must take a while to get from one class to the other. I'm not sure I would have got to class on time if I went there. I walk the speed of a tortoise!
We got to emilys early to help with her Halloween decorating! We were welcomed by her dog, Cooper, who is the cutest dog ever. He's crazy but has the most adorable face. Lee stayed for a little while to help out with decorations and me and Liz were given the task of making gravestones. So much fun! I haven't done arts and crafts for so long! It was quite difficult to think of things to put on a gravestone after R.I.P. Liz had no trouble, she had a few things she wanted to write... Haha.
After a little while we said our goodbyes to Lee and I went out to get us some subs. With all this art attack we were working up an appetite. The food place was just down the road so in 10 minutes or so me and Michael had returned with the goods just in time to skype suz, dan, lenni and Soph before they went out. It was strange seeing them all together. Len and Soph went to Manchester to visit. I was pretty jealous, I wanted to go and dance in Manchester! Times like these Dorothys red slippers would come in handy. I sometimes wish I could just tap my heels together 3 times and go home for just a few hours and then come back. Wishful thinking aye.
It was freezing in the flat...like so cold my feet felt like stumps of ice so we got into bed and watched some tv to warm up. We officially lost our Jersey shore virginity. How we hadn't sooner I'll never know...I mean it is a bunch of tramps beating eachother up all the time...but it's just so addictive and just hilarious! Great TV! Now that's something I thought I'd never say about that show...I now see why Aled and Huw like it so much.
7 episodes later we decided to put the jersey shore watching on hold...in other words we decided to get a life and finally get ready for the Halloween party! It was time to become the black swan! I got my makeup/facepaint on, dressed in my outfit: black top, black tutu and White tights...then added the necessary accessories and I was ready, as was liz in her homemade little red riding hood costume. We looked cool. Haha. I posted a picture to Facebook though and barely anybody knew what I was. Some people even thought I was a cat! What cats to you see dressed as a ballerina? Seriously? I don't have much luck with fancy dress at all. I try to be unique but fail everytime. I go as poison ivy to a fancy dress with O2 and get confused with being a tree, sweep (from sooty and sweep) and get confused with eyore from Winnie the pooh! Next time I'll be something predictable! Fancy dress is hard work haha!
Well after a little skype session with Jody and Rick wishing them a happy Halloween me and red riding hood went to join the party. We walked into the room and Em was there dressed as julia childs with cooper as her lobster! He was adorable...he hda me chuckling for a while! We poured ourselves some of Michaels special punch, which consisted of 3/4of a litre bottle of vodka, 3 bud light beers and some frozen lemonade. It's some good s*** but lethal!! Crikey I was feeling the effects after just one! Luckily Emilys friend had made the most amazing crab cake things to sober me up, I pretty much demolished the plate! I'm such a fatty!
Another one of Em and Michaels friends turned up with their dog called dooper. He was dressed as a bee...him and cooper running around the flat together was just hysterical. We took the party into the living room and began the game of apples to apples. I wasn't to good at it...I kept losing, as I do in every game that's some sort of drinking game! I might as well just drink...leave the game out. I'll have the same outcome! Me and Liz were going to go into Boston later into the night but the snow was falling pretty heavily so we called it a night and went to bed. Can you believe we were having snow in October? Its record breaking over here. Well I'd had enough to drink anyway...that punch was lethal.
Sunday morning came around quickly and after a long lie in watching films on tv we got ready to spend the rest of the day in Salem and visit the Salem witch village! It was Halloween weekend after all. We grabbed a map and began to walk the creepy streets. Everyone was dressed up walking around, it was very surreal. There were witches, vampires, ghosts and stupid clowns which scared the hell out of me! It was crazy.
We walked through the graveyard which was really eery. All the gravestones were so close together that when you were walking around you were walking over these people's graves. I felt so disrespectful it got a bit too much for us so we left. We bought some tickets for a few attractions around the area. The first one being a witches ritual. Wwwww! We were all given stones on entry and sat around the witches circle(circle of life). She began casting a spell asking us to chant 'so mote it be'! Apparently during the spell we had to wish for something whilst holding the stone. When she was done she told us to, whenever we were ready, throw the stone back to nature so our spell can begin to work. Haha. Have you ever heard so much rubbish? Well for the fun of it I'll go along with it and let you know if what I wished for comes true! Haha.
The next attraction was one of two haunted houses. As soon as we entered I was scared...it was all dark and there were real people wearing masks that followed you and breathed in your ear. I've never been so scared in my life...it was a traumatic experience! It seemed to be never ending as well... I just wanted to get out. Finally we reached the end. We survived the nightmare but I was shaking and really wanted to cry, Liz was in the same state. We couldn't face the next haunted house straight away...if I'd gone in I think I'd have had a panic attack! We went for a drink instead to calm the nerves.
After getting back to normal we decided against the next haunted house completely. We couldn't put ourselves through it again. It would have been torture. We chose to walk around the historic wax museum instead, extremely boring though. Nothing exciting to see there.,. It was no Madame tussauds, that's for sure.
We made our way back after a few hours...it got pretty cold plus we'd seen pretty much everything there so it made sense. It was cold again so we got back into bed and had some catch ups with Mr Daniel Hornhardt, who was being lazy and wouldn't get up for work but it was fun talking to him again, can't wait to meet up in australia for a mini contiki reunion! Benjamin forsey was our other catch up. We miss benji and the Cambrian point days! He did promise us that he would show us his nipples but that didn't happen. Maybe next time Benjamin?
After lots of talking we watched a nice easy movie, the back up plan, followed by celebrity juice with ant and dec which has to be one of the best episodes ever...it's genius. And all this was to pass time before watching our weekly episode of Dexter! Yes it was that time again to watch our favourite serial killer in action! It was then time to get some sleep.
It was Halloween and we spent most of the day in bed yesterday, we had a few things to do such as washing and of course find some chocolate haha. We watched a bit of back to the future and date night before a FaceTime session with goon and Seran. It was so good to catch up, we havnt seen Seran since we left so that was cool. They were about to get in the Halloween spirit and carve some pumpkins. We then also had a brief conversation with mr Stanley again who was with Chris willey this time. They were out drinking again...the O2 crew seem to be on the going out band wagon recently! Love it!
We eventually decided to get up and put some washing on and then made our way downtown for some breakfast, well brunch actually! Winchester is a cute little town, there were lots of cute shops. There were kids dressed up in their costumes trick or treating around the stores. It was so cute. We went into a cafe for some food before heading back to the flat. At least we got some exercise in for the day walking there and back. We popped into the shop at the bottom of the hill to try our luck at finding some skore bars as we just can't seem to find them anywhere! Well luck was in so I bought two...they are just soooo tasty!
We had only been gone and hour or so and we went back to bed. Today has been the laziest day ever and we watched the 'Little fokers' and 'you again' both good, funny, easy to watch movies.
I had a good catch up with the family later on it had been a while so there was lots to talk about. I also had a skype call with my nan who was now with Brenda and Ann. It was really weird seeing them in Wales and we were here. It was like we'd switched places. I'm glad they got there safely. They seem to be having a blast.
Emily and Michael got in from work as we were talking to them. To them it actually looked like we hadn't moved all day. Haha. We did need to get out for a bit though so we decided to get up and go to the cinema. So basically from our home cinema to an actual cinema. Haha. It was a nice easy drive there passing all the trick or treaters and the decorated houses on the way. It looked awesome.
We continued being fatties and ordered some pizza and mozzarella sticks to share, and we took our seats to watch the new johnny movie 'the rum diaries'. Liz was slightly distraught as there was no Mayo, so instead she took every single other dip, we had about 6 different dips walking in the cinema. Crazy!
I'm pretty undecided about the film, it's quite a strange one but parts of it are hilarious. I'd say it's probably worth a watch plus Johnny Depp is absolutely gorgeous in it! So ladies if you're not really keen on the film at least you have some good eye candy for the duration of it!
It was freezing out when the film ended... So we ran to the car, cranked the heat up and drove home. The Edge of darkness was on tv so we also added that to our watch list for the day. 5 movies in a day... That's extremely lazy haha! Ah well the next nine days are going to be busy ones! We are heading to NYC baby!! Wooo! Its goodbye to Emily and michael and the family up here. It's been awesome, we have had a blast but the time has arrived for us to leave...
That's right we will be seeing the bright lights, and touring the big city! So....start spreading the news, I'm leaving today, I want to be a part of it...NEW YORK, NEW YORK!
It's going to be an eventful week in the city that never sleeps!
I'll holler in a few days...I've got to get ready to go. I'm so excited!
Lots of love
