After a quick flight as we all fell asleep we arrived in Cairns and immediately fell in love with it! We checked into our hostel and caught up on some sleep!

The first night in Cairns was a very messy one as we went on a bar crawl with a massive group of people. The bar crawl involved games and lots of drinking! Showed us the good places to go in the evening. The next day we headed to the lagoon, which was really just a swimming pool with a bit of sand at the edge but all the same it was lovely and refreshing.

The next day we hired a car and headed up the coast to a place called Port Douglas, it was a beautiful place but again like many places out of our price range. We carried on our road trip up to a place called cape tribulation which again was beautiful but we got there quite late and so the sun had gone down. There were crocodile signs and jelly fish signs everywhere which made Panda very scared of the sea! Our evening again consisted of visitng a few bars in the town and our first experience of 'goon'. Goon is cheap wine in a box but very lethal when drunk in large quantities.

The next day was again spent by the lagoon and pool back at the hostel as it rained for pretty much all of the day.

The following day we hired a car again and went to a crocodile farm, we went on a little boat cruise around the river and they fed the crocodiles so that they jumped up at the boat. We also watched a man fight with a crocodile, a bit like Steve Irwin. We got to stroke a Koala and a crocodile!!!! While we was at the croc farm we decided it was the best place to try some crocodile, it tasted a bit like chicken but the texture was more flakey like a fish.

The next day was pretty much another chill out day as again the weather wasnt too great. In the evening Panda's friend from work turned up and so a messy reunion was in order. Panda decided it would be good to down some more goon, this was a bad idea. When we finally got the bar Panda then encouraged everyone to down their snake bite, this was too much for Panda who was found by Jordan and Katherine sprawled in the toilet at about 11pm!!! Luke (Panda's friend) gave her a piggy back all the way back to the hostel, nearly dying of a heart attack. Panda then decided to empty her guts into the toilet. Panda finally made it to bed but then had the urge to be sick again so left the room, naked, with no key and headed for the toilet, forgetting that everyone was back at the bar. So she couldnt get into the room so thought it would be a good idea to wander around naked. There were a group of guys who let her sleep in a spare bunk in their room, but she was not content, threw up in their bin and left the room. Some poor guy took pitty on her, gave her some clothes and let her sleep on the floor in his room. Meanwhile everyone else thought that Panda was dead, floating in the pool, until Panda emerged wearing some guys clothes. Panic over and off to bed....funny funny night.

The next morning we awoke to a man knocking on the door asking for rachel, obviously Panda decided to change her name and asking for his clothes back. Ooops. For the rest of the day Panda had people approach her asking if she was the naked girl in their room..think we need to leave cairns soon...

We are heading down to Mission beach tomorrow which is two hours south of cairns.
