So the day we landed in Christchurch was the day after St Patricks day..we enjoyed our last night in Sydney saying goodbye to friends a little too much...we arrived back at the hostel about 3am and had to get up at 5am to leave for the airport. Me and Jo boarded the plane and instantly passed out, neither of us made it past the safety instructions...

After a very quick, 2 hour flight we landed in Christchurch feeling a little bit worse for wear! The first thing we noticed was the difference in temperature..nothing like Australia! It was like stepping off the place at Heathrow! We made it to our hostel and just crashed out for the rest of the day!

Christchurch is not a very exciting place to be and during our 5 days there we visited the art gallery and arts centre..shops to buy some warm clothes and the cinema! whoop whoop! party central..our hostel was great and we met some nice people who we shared a few drunken nights with!

We left christchurch after a very messy night which consisted of a litre of vodka to be drank between Panda and Jo..so our first experience of the kiwi bus was not great as we didn't speak to anyone and slept for most of the journey! Oops! Anyway we drove past some beautiful scenery on our way to a place called Kikoura..if only we was awake to see it! Don't worry we soon learn't that once you have seen one rock and hill you have pretty much seen New Zealand anyway!

On our journey to Kaikoura we stopped at a seal colony..again we viewed this from the bus still feeling to sick to get off the bus. We then stopped at an amazing lookout which gave some fantastic views of Kaikoura!

We stayed in Kaikoura for one night..again there is nothing to do in this place, we ended up at the one local pub taking part in a pub quiz..we lost! This is where we met some nice people who would be travelling on our bus with us though!
