After a very long 10 hour journey, overnight, we arrive.....in the middle of nowhere, it felt like we were back in Thailand where they just drop you by the side of the road! We got off the coach and onto a little shuttle bus which took us into the town of Agnes Water! We was greeted by a very excited Sarah (a girl we met on our Whitsundays trip). We headed straight to the beach! The beach was pretty but just like any others that we have seen in Oz so far! That afternoon Katherine did a scooteroo trip! She got to ride a chopper around the town of 1770 and Agnes Water, the rest of us still felt a little worse for wear from the night before to do this and so just lazed on the beach! The tour allowed Katherine to see wild kangeroos and took them to a beautiful place to see the sun set before heading back to the hostel for our first ozzy barbie! During the day we had bumped into the two Lukes (Panda's friend from work) and so we went to the only pub in the village that evening to see them for a few drinks! The pub was small but the atmosphere was wicked as there was so many of us there and we had lots to catch up on!
We can only describe Agnes Water as the town from the film 'The Hills Have Eyes'.....there is nothing there and it is creepy at night! It was a good place to chill out but dangerous as there was nothing else to do but drink.....! So as typical backpackers we yet again headed to the beach for the next 3 days that we were in 1770 for!
On our last day in Agnes Water Jo and Tom hired a two seater peddle bike and did their own tour of Agnes Water and 1770, they loved the day, loved the downhill thrill but with every down hill they soon realised there was an even bigger uphill. Jo certainly worked on getting her Madonna legs that day!
