It didn't take Aidan long to get bored of writing journal entries, we're still in Thailand! The prospect of lying on the beach and reading John Grisham or The History of the World fascinates Aidan more than updating people at home about our fascinating adventures. Never mind, I will try to fill you in with all the best bits.
The highlight of Koh Lanta had to be the moped. Neither of us have ever been on a moped so this was quite a daunting experience, well for me it was. Aidan got on the moped first and he looked so wobbly I didn't want to get on. Aidan soon got the hang of it but I continued to be petrified. We had the bike for 24 hours and to fill the petrol tank was about £1.50. We covered the whole island several times on that day.
Our appartments restaurant was pretty good and made some Indian food (a surprising concept for a Thai island). Anyway Aidan jumped at the opportunity to eat Inidan food and had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think the Thai's were slightly offended! Tlaking about food we also had the most amazing English breakfast at the Brit Cafe. We're such xenophobes! Oh yeah, we also went to a pub quiz. Not as good as Bob's though.
Most of our days at Koh Lanta were pretty lazy, but we did have an incredible adventure in a little long tail boat. We visited loads of islands and did lots of snorkelling, the fish were incredible. One of the islands we visited we had to swim through a cave to get to the beach, really felt like I had been shipwrecked somewhere in paradise, the little beach was amazing! Unfortunatley we have no photos of this. However, it was on this trip I realised I was prone to sea sickness, the water was so choppy!
Absolute luxury in Koh Lanta, we had a flush toilet! But Aidan broke it and we ran out of water.
It was in Koh Lanta that Aidan realised he didn't bring enough pants with him. Being a good girlfriend I offered to wash them but it took me so long I told him that was the last time. We then spent the rest of the trip searching for pants for Aidan. Who would have thought that an incredible adventure around the world would consist of shopping for pants.
Katie.
