We wanted to go from Chiang Mai to the islands in the south west of Thailand.

We could have flown but we couldn`t afford it. We got the sleeper train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, spent the day in Bangkok and then flew from Bangkok to Phuket with a really cheap airline.

On the sleeper train the seats turned into bunkbeds and the beds were more comfortable than lots of places we have stayed.

Our plane was 4 hours late but they gave us a burger from Burger King as compensation.
