Last night a new addition to the snoring saga appeared. We could hear him through the walls at a volume that was making it hard to sleep. So yet again another rough night and we have vowed never ever to stay in a dorm again!! This was the last straw. No matter how high the price of a double room, it doesn't matter.
Today is being used to check off some of the must sees of Singapore at a rushed speed, we could have spent much longer here.
Highlights
- China Town market - finding the shrilling chicken toy.
- Gardens by the Bay - 30m high walkway called the Skywalk.
- Little India - best curry so far this year.
- The Merlion - showing the Asian community how to capture the trick photo. (So it looks like you are drinking the fountain.)
Late afternoon we headed to the airport for yet another two flights in a day (sort of). We were amazed at the facilities of Singapore Airport- snooze lounge, cinema, shops, eat, lounge areas with charging dock speakers and tvs, computer stations, wifi to skype, playground, spa, comfy long chairs, massage chairs.... To name just a few.
Tiredness was setting in by this point and it was heartbreaking to know the we weren't spending the night in this airport but catching a flight to KL where we had already experienced the bleakness of the cold, hard floor for the night. We must have been tired as we got sucked into a sales pitch in duty free and nearly bought a $600 camera. Needless to say that time went too fast and we were unable to fully indulge and utilise what Changi Airport had to offer the tired, uncomfortable, weary, drained backpacker during an all night 12 hour airport sleep. When we arrived in KL it was as expected, nothing open at all so we just picked a quiet corner of the departure lounge floor and set up stall.
