Just before leaving Wanaka we took a trip to "Puzzling World", which amused us for a little while, but wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. Then we made our way to Queenstown. We stopped off to watch a few people Bungy Jump, the others booked there's in for the week ahead.
The scenery around Queenstown is stunning, with the Remarkables (a mountain range) set right by the town. First stop in Queenstown: Fergburger! So many people had told me to try it I had to go, and they were right; the best burger I've ever had :-) Then it was time to get ready for the evening out in World Bar.
The next day (Monday) we had planned to go Luging, but the wind was too high and it had been closed for the day. Instead we took a hike up Queenstown "Hill" (it was definitely a mountain) 2 of the 3 hours hike was uphill. The views were amazing and the weather was beautifully clear, but I'm definitely not fit enough!
In the evening we went to "Cowboys" where they had a mechanical bull and sold litre beers for $10, so beer it was for me! Then off to World Bar for dancing.
Tuesday, we slept in (a nice change from getting up to get on a bus) and then got fish and chips, they're not the same as home though. The Luge was closed again, so we relaxed for the day instead.
Wednesday, I got up early to go to Milford Sound, but it was closed due to a landslide over the road. Instead I explored a bit of Queenstown, did some shopping and of course, had another Fergburger (lamb this time).
Thursday, I decided to get my nose pierced. It hurt like hell and Nicki and Kristy who came with me found it hysterical! Then, with my limited culinary skills I decided I would cook myself a steak dinner, as I'm sick of eating pasta all the time. Auntie Heidi you'd be so proud of me!
