If I was any more relaxed I'd be at risk of never moving again. The sun, the water, the general slowness of Italian life, it's addictive. Is it any wonder they drink aperitifs at 11am? Lake Garda is a big place, 55km long or so, even without the bend in the middle you wouldn't be able to see from one end to the other. The edges are lined with small villages as are the hillsides overlooking the water. All of them have their own personality, not unlike the Italians themselves. We saw most of them during our stay, whizzing past the summer traffic (virtually at a standstill) to leave Torre del Benco (quiet village with great hotels, random midweek late night markets, waterfront restaurants and a castle) to go south 35km to Sirmione (fabulous walled village bursting at the seams with tourists). Words can not describe how beautiful the place (the entire lake) is. Busy in summer, sure, but so fabulous for doing nothing it's a wonder I've found time to write this at all. I did consider just posting photos, pictures speaking thousands of words and all that.
