Unfortunately the forecast was correct and we woke up to a wet day. The plan was a drive to the Tsitsikammma National Park which is a marine reserve. The weather didn't make the viewing stop at the worlds highest bungee jump very impressive as low cloud hung in the valley. Still there was a warm cafe with live streaming of the adrenaline junkies. We drove onto the park where the planned walk had to be changed as the suspension bridge we had planned to walk to was closest for maintenance. The rain continued to pour down, but we put on our wet weather gear for a walk. Only Jack braved the weather in a t shirt, not by choice because he doesn't seem to have brought any coat on holiday apart from the sports jacket he turned up at the airport, with his brown brogues smart trousers, he looked as though he was on a business trip. Jack is a very intelligent, and very posh ( he says "yah" ). but lacks common sense . He cycles in a long pair of trousers with zip offs and when it gets really hot he will expose his legs. He seems to wear the same blue cotton polo shirt every day and a pair of old trainers with a hole. If he gets really cold he puts on his woolly v neck jumper. but most of the time he just grins and bears the cold and rain. Jack's wife however has got all the gear and fusses about everything for herself, but does not seem to worry about her husband getting pneumonia.
Anyway after our walk we dried off in a lovely location cafe overlooking the beach and had a brief walk before the rain started again. The decision was made to abandon the afternoon cycle ride on safety grounds, we returned to Kynsa where the weather had improved and so spent a couple of hours exploring the town.
A bit of free time enabled us to find a couple of geocaches ( the first of the holiday.) The first geocache was easy in church grounds. The second was in a park area, however it was necessary to get a permit from the coffee shop to allow you to visit, filling in a form and signing for this permit. We then approached the gated entrance a had to speak on the intercom giving our number before the gate was opened. What a performance! and then we found ourselves in an overgrown wilderness, but at least we found the geocache and once again had to get permission to get out.
We wondered around the town and to the harbour front and found a nice path around the lagoon back to the hotel. The path went past the local brewery, so we purchased some of the local brew to try later.
Dinner was at a very nice location at a Knysa Heads overlooking the sea in such a wonderful location. We returned to our "party house " for a night cap
