It was still a bit cloudy when we woke but strong winds soon blew away the clouds and the beautiful Whitsunday's turquoise sea was at its best. An exciting morning's sail took us to the famous Whitehaven Beach one of the most beautiful beaches in the World. The sand is white silica that reflects the sun so never gets hot and is really fine -awesome. The views from the lookout over the beach and sea were just amazing It really was one of the most spectacular views in the World.
The only disappointing thing is that it is a bit of a tourist trail as boat loads of people trail up to the viewpoints mainly young backpackers on party boats, some still hungover from the night before.
The afternoon we sailed off to another snorkelling spot. The fish here were amazing and with bread being dropped off the dingy we were swimming in a frenzy of colourful fish of all shapes and sizes some up a couple of feet long and so tame you could stroke them!
A beautiful sunset at sea completed a very enjoyable day in the Whitsundays.
