Lees Big USA Trip (part 2)
On the way to my next KOA campsite I went to the Calico Ghist Town which grew up During the silver mining rush of the 1880s it boasted 500 mines, 22 saloons 1200 population, China town and a red light district. When the silver price dropped from $1.31 to $0.63 per ounce Calico quickly became a ghost town with only 300 inhabitants by 1893. I picked up a few coins including a couple of $3 for all night brothel tokens. I wonder if they're still valid?
I did a little gold prospecting and found a goodly amount of (fools?) gold. See pic
