Well, we are just about over the flu we have... AJ is still a little sniffly but we are surviving.
We went to visit La Boca which is the district where the coloured houses are for those of you who know about them. I have uploaded some photos. We read on trip advisor just before we
ventured out there that it was a really dodgy area. We were going to walk there from the metro station originally, but after reading some comments, decided we just get the bus straight there. Apparently lots of people are mugged at gun or knife point when walking in the area so it is strongly advised to get there by bus or taxi then stick to the tourist part. When we got there it was just like the famous photos... lots of coloured houses! And a market stall running through the middle of the street, along with bars and cafes and tango shows. It got pretty annoying walking through the street as people try and get you to have a drink in their bar so we didn´t stick around for long. Just took a few photos and left. We then had dinner in a lovely restaurant just around the corner from the hostel and a coffee of course (which I think we have become addicted to!) There is an amazing coffee shop that just sells coffee and chocolate... delicious!
Today, we went to the Eva Peron (or Evita) museum. It was an eye-opener anyway. I never realised what a difference she made to the Argentinian people and way of living. We then walked to the Japanese Gardens.
Its about 7pm so thinking about some tea. As eating out here is unbelievably cheap, we are thinking Italian tonight. People here don`t usually eat until 10pm so when we go for dinner we tend to be the only people in the restaurant! We can`t wait that long for food.
Still surviving in our hostel room as well. Took some photos of the mould just in case we get some disease and have to claim off our insurance. That reminds me... have the dentist tomorrow to get my back tooth checked out. Its getting worse with pain. AJ just called our travel insurance to confirm its ok and they said they will cover all costs directly so good news so far! Just hope I don`t have to get my tooth pulled out!
