Today we drove straight to Airlie beach and got there about 1pm. We found a hostel (that had powered parking) called magnums backpackers. It had a bar and tour agent and a cafe all in one little complex. We booked a flight over the Whitsundays for tomorrow and went for a walk along the strip. It's a cool little beach area. It's got surf shops, chemists, cafes and cotton on! The beach is tiny and not the best in Australia but it has a nice vibe. After we'd bought sunglasses and flip flops we got an ice cream (from McDonald's for 30c) then just chilled out in prep for tomorrow's flight.
