When we arrived it wasn't raining! We parked on the esplanade and went for a wonder around the night market and all the souvenir shops. Cairns has got loads of places to eat too. After a little shop we decided to head to our camper and go bed. Where we were parked it didn't have any time restrictions so we decided to just sleep there. It was in front of the sea with a row of hotels behind us. People were walking along the prom and cars were driving down the esplanade. I felt a little bit exposed but Lee was adamant we'd be fine here plus we didn't have anywhere else to go. The camper didn't have to be back until tomorrow and we weren't booked into the hostel until tomorrow.
I fell asleep straight away whilst Lee stayed up watching films on his iPad. About an hour into my sleep I jumped up. Apparently Lee had heard someone trying the door handle so had looked through the curtains and someone in a motorised wheelchair was trying to get in! Well all the excitement made us both need a wee. We found out that in Cairns, along the esplanade, they lock the public toilets. Bad times to camping in car parks.
