I woke early because I was excited about seeing the beautiful Whitsundays and the famous heart reef and the Great Barrier Reef. I had a little look on the news on Lees phone.... There was a cyclone! The eye of the cyclone was further out to sea but it was causing bad weather. The sky was dark, full of rain clouds. Our flight wasn't until 10 so I was hoping the weather would clear at least enough for the plane to take off. The plane we were going on is a tiny one that has a runway in a sort of canyon in the hills. We got a phone call at 9:30 saying it was cancelled.
We packed up and headed for Cairns. Fingers crossed we were leaving the bad weather behind. If the cyclone moves further north it will effect the visibility when we go scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef or worse we may not be able to go....
