Day 1
We arrived in London quite late in the evening, but were lucky enough to stay the night with Paul (a friend).
Day 2
Was spent lazing around all morning at Pauls before checking into our hostel. If anyone stays in London we recomend Globetrotter inn, really friendly, great beds and facillities. Plus you get a good breakfast and the price is reasonable. Later on we saw Buckingham Palace and relaxed in Green Park where we did some peolple watching.
Day 3
We did a double decker, red hop on hop off bus tour of London, taking in all the main sites. A good way to see the city but the buses can take 30 minutes to catch. Included in the tour is a cruise of the river Thames taking in The London Bridge and tower (one of many bridges), Parliment and London eye. Very pretty.
In the evening we went on a walking tour "Ghosts by gas light" of The strand and Fleet st taking us through the back alley ways, stopping at a couple of pubs on the way. A must do 3.5 hours ending at a pub for dinner. We got to see places we'd never see with great stories on the way.
Day Four
We went on a Day trip to Windsor castle which we were rushed through in 45 minutes with only time to see the State Apartments - wich was recently opened up to the public to pay for the restoration after a fire. Queen Mary's doll house was the highlight where they got Rolls Royce to design miniture cars that actually work. We then carried onto the Stonehenge, where we had a pub lunch before setting off to Bath. The Roman baths were pretty cool but the town it's self was one of the favourites of our trip so far.
Day 5
We checked out Madam Tussards, and got up close and personal with Brad Pitt, Jonny Depp and the Queen. Then to the Tower of London and afternoon tea at The Waldolf Hilton.
Day 6
We joined the crowd at Buckingham Palace for the Queen's birthday paraide. Then we went shopping at Harrads and Oxford St (Top shop is here) and had flight on the London eye before heading out for a Japanese dinner and beers at the pub.
Day 7
Our last day before moving onto Edinbourgh, Paul took us to a couple of markets including a flower market and Notting Hill. A great place to do some people watching with many more interesting people than at the major tourist spots. For dinner we enjoyed some great indian curries.
