On our last day in Nelson we had to be up early for the bus to Picton and knew we had to get our bags either down a ridiculously long and windy hill or down a flight of step concrete steps so thought it best to give ourselves some time to do this.

We enjoyed the free breakfast once more and even stole a roll to have either at lunch or with dinner that evening.

The bus journey was around 3 hours and we got into Picton too early to check in. We dumped our bags at reception and headed into town to have a look around. Turns out the town really wasn't that big so this didn't take long! So we had hot chocolates at a cafe and perused the lunch menu.

As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it...moule marinere! It was so good and came with crunchy bread... Probably not the best use of my money but totally worth it!

After that we headed back the Villa hostel, checked in and headed to our dorm.

That afternoon we used the wifi which was free and pretty good to download movies and more game of thrones (yay), met Sydney the dog and sat in the lounge area reading our books in front of the fire.

After dinner a bell was rung to indicate that free apple crumble and ice cream was available and this turned out to be pretty good! Excited now for our return to this hostel on our way back from Kaikoura...more free crumble!
