We arrived in Byron Bay at 11am after another 12 hour bus but the sun was shining so we were happy! We headed straight out to explore the town which is very small but quite lively with bars and restaurants all around, we went to a nice Mexican restaurant for lunch then headed to the beach for the afternoon. The beach was beautiful but it was so incredibly windy we felt like we were being given an exfoliating sand scrub the minute we lay down! We were completely covered in sand after half an hour so decided it wasn't worth it and sat by the pool instead (tough decisions we have to make these days!) we went out in Byron bay that evening with a couple of Australian girls we met at the hostel. We went to the well known Cheeky Monkeys bar, it was a fun night but it was a very young crowd and full of backpackers so not our ideal night but I expect we need to get used to it as we travel further up the east coast! We did a walk the next day to the most Easterly point in Australia which we thought was just going to be a leisurely stroll but turned out to be a bit of a hike (story of our lives at the moment!) it was really hot as well so it was pretty tough! We were exhausted when we got back so just had a chilled evening with a few drinks at the hostel.
