Today we awoke after 14hours!!!

Didnt even hear the alarm, must have been the hot carbonara in our bellys! feel amazing though. really needed that sleep to give us a boost!

Enjoyed our first proper lunch at 2.30pm, in the form of a triple decker club sammich :) and wrote a few postcards.. we really hope they get bk home, because we did slightly slag off shanghai..minimally.. Also we asked the barmaid to write UK in chinese on the bottom, as she said no postcard will leave shanghai if kanji doesnt appear on it, as none of the postal workers speak english! so she wrote UK London, in chinese. hmmm.

Adventured out at 3.30pm. Took us roughly over an hour to reach the Jade Buddist Temple, which houses a 1.5m high buddah..made of Jade. but it was shut. so we didnt see it. But i did purchase many mini buddah - to send home :) nic got a lovley jade bracelet and i got a sandelwood one which smells amazing for 2GBP

My cheeks are aching from smiling so much today! ..at the people who stare at us as we walk past. so much staring! not in a rude way but in a intrigued way. Its nice when people approach us and speak some chinglish, asking questions.

Aww bless.. yes not all english people have blond hair! i have purple..and no it is not natural, as Marissa thought. Really funny, as all the manaquins in shops are english looking. Lisa explained all young people in Shaghai do speak english from a young age..but are too shy to use it, incase they get it wrong and look silly... hell no they are fluent! They all want to be like westerners too. Why?? its nothing to aspire too.. the chinese are all beautiful looking and tradtional. i dont understand the fascination with the English

Nicole is loving the complements about her beautiful hair and skin.. many people have approached. I am loving the fact that no-one has attempted to touch me :) yeah

Back to people staring - they also get their camera fones out! and take a picture whilst we walk past. Example: were at the zebra crossing, some dude say 'look, i phone' and snapped a pick of us sweaty white mingers. Ugh!! i wuldve posed if he had asked! pretty sure if you YouTubeCN..we would be on there.

SOOO FUNNY! ...yesterday whilst staring confusingly at the oriental pearl tower.. a family grabbed Nicole and got her to have her photograph taken with their daughter, with the tower in the background! look western girl! must have photo. what the hell?

Am sat in the bar at the mo. enjoying yet more fresh fruit tea..the usual. its amazing- people smoke in here, but u cant smell it. even when their sat on the next table. either amazing ventilation, or non-stinking ciggaretes!

Am gonna go now and wash our clothes...beacuse we are sweating profusily. to the point of gross. Iv adjusted well to the grubbyness, going a proud 5days without washing my hair in the minging water (il wash it tonight). water makes ur hair feel like uv bleached it and ur skin very dry. We are both acsessivly using anti-bacterial hand gel.. to beat the swine flu! which china tv is blaming on americans bringing it over to asia.
