"Dear passengers, welcome to Shanghai... we are the Quarantine Team"

These were the first words heard after landing! 11 painstaking hours on a plane, spent wriggling, watching 5 lame movies and eating Richard Branson fry up/microwave mess.. to be told we arent getting off the plane until we be scanned by men in white suits!

They came on waering facemasks, steamy goggles and white one-sies! it was something out of E.T , very disturbing. What concerned me most, was that there suits had no zip!
They continued to scan the foreheads of all passengers, checking your tempreture.. of course, nicole was unreadable! so she had to be orally probed ;) by a themeter. Eventually she was cleared, but must have the tempreture of a swine flu victim.

We took a taxi from the aiport; we realised our limbs didnt work after the long flight. Also panicked because our phones dont work- orange is not friends with Shanghai - Thankfully Nics mum rang the hostel and we were able to get the message out that were alive and safe! despite the taxi journey being risky as hell. Drivers here just want to run people over.

Slept all day, felt gash. I havnt pooped for 50hrs and nic cant stop going! so we took a small walk to mini market for water and loo role. Fun!

Trying not to feel disheartand, as not one person speaks English..ahh! and no where sells phone cards because mobiles have taken off in a big way here, appently! Will be exploring tomorrow. yipee! so keep checking up on us. Miss u all loads xxx
