Nicole fell asleep last night to the sound of our neighbour pleasuring himself! we awoke briskly at 5am and outside was an amazingly cool tempreture as it had rained loads!!!!

@hongquio airport nicole had her luggage sifted through because she looks like a terrorist..or because she packed some suspicious looking device, who knows. we the went on to what nicole describes as 'the death plane'. they literalkly did not put the breaks on until we hit the ground..it was alittle scarey but i was fascinated because there was a low quality video feed on the tv coming from the front of the plane! u can see from the nose, coming down through the clouds, towards the runway. was really cool! ..and i loved taking off falling asleep watching the clouds.

the chinese version of a wetsren fry up was rancid. but bless them for trying. i wonder what the white sausage was? luckily we had a fat pizza slab before boarding.
once again..got a taxi to our hotel. the driver did not understand the chinese print out that gap adventures gave us!
the hotel is lusdh! huge beds, posh bathroom, mini bar, hbo on satelite tv..the works. love it. oo and they serve the best cherry/blueberry tea!!!!! yummmm.

we met with our gap adventures group today!!! they are wicked. our tour leader stoney is a little typical chinese man. soo friendly and speaks great english. 8girls and 5boys. of which..3couples in our group! 6 englidh, 5 french canadian, 1 australian, 1south african. all our age pretty much, shuld be real;ly good trip, trekking through china for 3weeks with them!

went to typical chinese restaurant tonight. stony ordered for us, a variety of chicken, beef, vege and mutton meals. the mutton was horrible., yuk! the jasmine tea was sublime. we all sat around a big table and the food rotates on a table in the middle! brilliant, u get to choose a biut of each. in tiny bowls. how quaint! only avfew uncomfotable silences, but everyoe is still in the polite, just me mode. im sure well be used to eachother in no time! xx l&n xx
