Today we met our mate Abi who we met on the China tour. We were late but think she expected that as we always were on the trip too.
We went to the Golden Gate park and sunbathed. It was really hot so it was a great day to sunbathe and relax there. Great to catch up with Abi too and she had been to a few different places since we left Hong Kong.
This is Laura - i had a pretty horrifying experience today on the bus to Haight Ashbury (a hippie/dodgie area with great shopping and vintage stores).. anyway the best and worse bus ride of my life.
A hobo sits opposite me with his eyes closed residing a poem that he apparently wrote in 1986 about the bermuda triangle and astanaughts, whilst sipping a can of larger. His friend who looks about 80yrs old in a leather jacket sleeps on his shoulder. A young guy in a hat and funky tshirt sells weed, jewlrey and ornaments from his rucksack, to the public on the bus to my right. A mother, father and a screaming baby sit to my left - there baby has become the subject of attention to a homeless stinking drunk woman who is now stumbling around on an already rammed bus. She thinks hobo number 1s poetry is 'beautiful'.. and she sits on his lap dribbling. flask hanging from one arm. bag of rags between her legs, which are sporting some lovley skull and cross bone knee high socks by the way. she hangs onto the bar on the ceiling, flashing her incredibly thick black underarm hair....... god this chick is minging. As the bus pulls away she of course, stumbles and falls on me. This sweaty mess is now not only sat crushing my boobs but she struggles to pull her drunk ass up.. becuase she is a giant. Now i have 4 hobos apoligising to me and im itching to grab my camera becuase it has been so incredibly bizarre and random but thinking should i get a tetnus shot and will the prescence of my camera turn them into angry hobos. what a ride.
Its nicole again. The above was extremely accurate. Im actually crying with laughter as i type remembering the experience. It was shocking though.
A good part to the day was that we had a Tofurky. It was a tofu hotdog. Incredible! Filled with chilli's and pickels and stuff. We might try one of them again as it was amazing and cheap. We both agree it was the best hotdog we have ever had!
After saying goodbye to Abi we caught the cable car back to Fishermans Wharf by our hostel. It costs 5 bucks and i was hanging onto the side as there was no space. No idea how it made it up the steep roads, it was quite scary coming down the steep bits. But the views were cool.
